Mr. Leatherbarrow Delivers Lecture on Facial Anatomy at Royal College of Surgeons

Earlier in February and in March, Mr. Leatherbarrow delivered informative lectures on facial anatomy at the Royal College of Surgeons in London, with an emphasis on an appreciation of the danger areas of the face when undertaking dermal filler injections.

Mr. Leatherbarrow’s participation was part of a series of lectures delivered to groups of practitioners from various parts of the United Kingdom. This course was organized by Galderma, an internationally renowned dermatology and pharmaceutical company that is focused on innovating cutting-edge skin disease solutions, as well as aesthetic products.

The lectures covered a variety of topics, and emphasised ways in which practitioners can improve the safety of facial procedures. For example, the lectures focused on how doctors, surgeons, dentists and nurses who undertake facial dermal filler injections such as Restylane® can make the procedures safer, as well decrease the risk of possible adverse reactions, by improving their knowledge of facial anatomy.

Improving knowledge of facial anatomy – as well as improving awareness of the dangers of improperly administered dermal filler injections – is something Mr. Leatherbarrow feels strongly about and dedicates his time and expertise to. Please click here to read more information on this topic.

Mr. Leatherbarrow’s lectures, which took place on 11 February, 5 March, and 27 March were then followed by four hours of facial anatomy demonstrations at the Surgical Skills Centre, which is one of the UK’s largest cadaveric dissection facilities and is also located at the Royal College of Surgeons. Mr Leatherbarrow will be participating in a further course on 8 May.
