Face & Eye in Manchester now offers a new version of the Crystalens–named Crystalens HD™–to its cataract and refractive surgery patients.

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

The Crystalens HD is the fourth generation of the only FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved accommodating lens and offers improvement in near vision for many patients, as well as the distance vision achieved by standard lenses. The first generation Crystalens accommodating intraocular lens (IOL) was approved by the FDA in November 2003

Our patients have clearly indicated a preference for a high definition experience in vision correction and a truly accommodating IOL helps achieve that goal. The Crystalens HD will help many of our patients experience truly good near vision without compromising on the quality of vision at intermediate or distance.

Self pay surgery requiring general anaesthesia

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

Manchester Royal Eye Hospital has now moved from its old site into its brand new, impressive, state of the art facility adjacent to Manchester Royal Infirmary and the new Manchester Childrens’ Hospital. It also has its own separate dedicated private patients ward. Most major private operations (e.g. surgery requiring general anaesthesia on a day case basis or with a 1-2 night stay in hospital) for self pay patients can be offered at a much lower price than that which is charged by other local private hospitals. Typical operations undertaken in the new facility are: cataract surgery, orbital decompression for thyroid eye disease, enucleation and orbital implant surgery for a blind unsightly eye, cosmetic eyelid surgery or brow lift surgery, midface lift surgery, watering eye surgery (DCR), ptosis surgery, eyelid reconstruction surgery, orbital and eyelid tumour surgery and Coleman fat injection surgery. For details contact us at enquiries@faceandeye.co.uk where initial consultations can be offered (except for patients under the age of 18 who can be seen at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital on thursday evenings)

Perlane and Restylane now available with a local anaesthetic in the same syringe

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

Restylane and Perlane are now available with a local anaesthetic agent (Lignocaine) combined in the same syringe. This means that the application of local anaesthetic creams or the use of painful dental blocks prior to injection of these fillers are no longer required. This has the advantage of making the treatment faster and much more comfortable. Contact Face & Eye on 08458 332233 for more details of this and other facial rejuvenation treatments, or email enquiries@faceandeye.co.uk

This now removes the requirement for the application of a topical anaesthetic cream to the eyelids prior to injection making the procedure faster and much more comfortable. Telephone Face & Eye on 08458 332233 for more details of this very popular and highly specialised treatment. Alternatively send an email to brianleatherbarrow@faceandeye.co.uk
